PAYYANITHOTTAM
CHOLATHADAM
Cholathadam is a rural area in Kottayam district in the state of Kerala in India. It includes in the village of Poonjar Thekkekara located 15 km far from the town Erattupetta. It consists of a church called St. Mary's Church, two temples, one nursery school, DST Convent and the Gramodayam Library. The ancestors who got the land from the King of Poonjar Palace, cultivated there and made a good culture and civilization. The first ancestors are from the families of Naduthottiyil (Vadakkeputhenpurackal), Vilackunnel,Vadayattu and Plathottathil. Cholathadam consists of Anuggumpadi, Chakkippara and Kaithakulam. This is a place where Christians and Hindu's live unitedly.Now the construction of the new church is ongoing by the leadership of Fr.Jose Keeranchira(Vicar).The all peoples are worked as a team for the construction of new church.
KUNNONNY
Kunnonny is a village in the Kottayam district of Kerala state, India. It is about 50 km from Kottayam and about 3 km from Poonjar. Kunnonny is primarily an agricultural village and most people plant Rubber. The population is about 2500. Most of them are farmers and daily wage workers. Recently a lot of people have left from here for work outside Kerala and India. The population consists of Hindus and Christians. A church (St. Joseph's Roman Catholic church) and a few temples are there in Kunnonny. The St. Joseph's U P School is managed by the church.
PATHAMPUZHA
Pathampuzha is a small village in the Kottayam district of Kerala state, India.
This village has a school, St. Joseph UPS, attached to Holy Cross Church Malayinchippara. It has a public library and child health care centre. The beautiful Aruvickachal waterfall is around 2.5 km from the village center. Distance from Erattupetta is 12 km and from Pala is 22 km. Frequent bus services are available. From Pathampuzha this road connects to Mundakkayam via Parathanam.
THALANADU
Thalanadu is a typical Kerala village, which is a mixture of the features of both midland countryside and the Malanad hill area, enveloped in greenery with a clean and unpolluted atmosphere. It is a small panchayat in Poonjar Vadakkekara Village, but quite long, stretching about 25 kilometres including Adukkom reaching up to the Vagamon and Munnilavu Panjayahthu area, at about three thousand and five hundred feet above sea level. This place is known for its agriculture and landscape. It is full of hills and valleys in the middle of which flows the Meenachil river (made famous by Arundhati Roy's novel, The God of Small Things).
